The IMF team will travel to Pakistan in two to three days to finish the ninth review:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated on Friday that an IMF delegation would travel to Pakistan in two to three days to complete the ninth review of Pakistan's $7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF).

During his address to the Islamabad inaugural ceremony of the Hazara Electric Supply Company (HESC), he made the remarks.

In 2019, Pakistan joined an IMF program for $6 billion, which was raised to $7 billion last year. The ninth review of the program, which would bring in $1.18 billion, is still pending. Due to the PML-N-led government's refusal to accept certain Fund conditions, it had been delayed for two months earlier, and disagreements have not been resolved.

The premier stated in his speech that he had discussed Pakistan's agreements with the international money lender with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on Thursday night.

He emphasized that he reassured Georgieva that the current administration wished to carry out the terms of the agreement that the previous administration had "broken and shattered."

He emphasized the devastation caused by the devastating floods of last year while also stating that Pakistan would do its best to comply with the terms of the IMF agreement.

According to Shehbaz, he informed Georgieva that the "economic situation is before you, I can't burden the common man any further [...] She assured me that she understands my difficulty."

The premier reiterated his statement to the IMF official that Pakistan would attempt to implement the agreement's terms.

In addition, the premier stated that he requested Georgieva to send a delegation to Pakistan to finish the ninth review of the IMF program. She informed me that within two to three days, an IMF team would arrive in Pakistan.

He said, "Had not anticipated extent of Imran's destruction," referring to the country's deteriorating economic situation, that he had not anticipated the extent to which PTI Chairman Imran Khan had "destroyed everything."

Shehbaz made the following remarks at the Islamabad ceremony for the Hazara Electric Supply Company (HESC)'s founding: When we took control of the government, we had to pay a high price. We were aware of the dire economic situation, but I was unaware of the extent to which Imran Khan had destroyed everything.

He slammed Imran for making "baseless" allegations of corruption against Chinese businesses and "taking out the funeral" of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Additionally, he criticized his predecessor for not purchasing gas when it was available at lower prices on the international market.

Imran did not care about the Pakistani people. He would have initiated projects for the people and put aside political vendettas and verbal abuse if he had done that.

He added that Imran did not start any projects or put down "a single brick" during his tenure.

In addition, he referred to Imran as the "biggest hypocrite and most thankless person" in light of the PTI leader's criticisms of the nation's top institutions.

Despite the Pakistan Army exhausting all of its "powers and capabilities" in an effort to ensure that the country advances and develops, the prime minister stated that it was Imran's "misfortune" that he proved to be a failure.

HESC In relation to the HESC, the premier stated that the people of Hazara's demand for a better system of electricity supply that was owned and supervised by the people had been met.

The attendees were reassured by the premier that the government would quickly complete the remaining company-related arrangements.

He expressed gratitude to Khurram Dastgir Khan, Minister of Power, and his staff for their efforts in this regard.

PM Shehbaz also said that he had told the people in charge to finish Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) projects that were left unfinished even though money was available.
