Attacks on the taliban continued to take place and the latest at least five people including two taliban members have been killed in two separate incidents in jalalabad in afghanistan's nangarhar province now what we know now while no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far jalalabad is the stronghold of the islamic state in afghanistan or the isis-k in one attack an identified gunman opened fire on a taliban vehicle when the second blast targeted a vehicle according to witnesses attackers struck taliban vehicles the isis is emerging as the taliban's biggest challenge in afghanistan last week jana labad was rocked by explosions with at least one blast targeting a taliban convoy taliban had launched an investigation into the blasts the attacks are not limited to eastern afghanistan.
Now a series of rockets hit a power plant in the capital kabul our correspondent anas malik visited the site of the blast in kabul take a look the target was chanting substation clearly in an attempt to damage the infrastructure the city's electricity infrastructure i'm standing at the champton substation which was targeted by rockets late last night at least three of them landed here two of them at a nearby house within this vicinity of the colony.
These are the splitters that you can see that have been damaged uh as well uh this champions station serves as uh as a bridge between uh the kabul city and the electricity supply that comes in from elsewhere from uzbekistan to be precise the taliban came in late last night and they collected material evidence however uh due to darkness this piece of rocket was perhaps overlooked and it's now lying here as well all you can see is around is debris the pieces of jumpers of these splitters that you can see they they're there as well and the damage jumpers are there uh the place had caught fire uh late last night it was cleared out no loss of life was however reported in these rocket attacks anast malik in kabul afghanistan for beyond world is one the issk rose to prominence recently after claiming the kabul airport attack on august the 26th in which nearly 200 people including 13 u.s army personnel were killed.
